This small museum is in the actual building that served as Washington's office. The exhibits are adequate to tell his story during that chapter of his life. There are no guided tours.
I did not go inside. Just stopped by to see the outside of the building, read the signs, sit in the courtyard, and appreciate the history. Great little spot on a busy corner. Worth a visit.
George Washington's office contains artifacts of the period and information on Washington's time in Winchester. The building consists of 3 rooms and is a self guided attraction, though the museum attendant gives an introduction on request. I would not recommend for small children.
First off you will be taken back by the small size of the building, it really only 2 small rooms. Short tour is narrated by guide. Will only take you 15-30 minutes to make the stop. Some artifacts, not a whole lot but the real highlight is to be in the same building and grounds that our first president walked.
Even though we hesitated on going in because of the rain, we are glad we did. It was very informative and interesting seeing artifacts from the past and learning the history of George Washington.
It was small but worth the money. There isn't much to see but if you like history you'll enjoy it. The young lady at the counter asked that we not post any pictures so I won't. You'll have to see it for yourself.
If a museum only charges $5, you know it isn't huge. Should be no surprise. This little museum, though only 2 1/2 rooms held a lot of info on Washington when this was his office. Some of the info was on the original owners, the history of the building and area when Washington was a Surveyor. So if $5, I... 更多
There really isn't much besides telling you Washington was here as a surveyor at a very young age. Really you can be done here in 10 minutes. I don't expect much for $5 per person but I don't expect this little either. Especially if you go as a group and the sum cost is high. Just take pictures outside, inside... 更多
This is a small museum with a self guided tour. Washington had a office here when he was a surveyor. The building is interesting and you will learn things you probably didn't know about Washington. Otherwise, there isn't much here.
