The oldest brick home in the U.S.! Interesting architecture like I had not seen before. The tour was very informative and interesting. If you go when it has rained or is raining, you will be limited to view all the out buildings as there are no walkways - will get wet and muddy feet!

It was rainy so we couldn't really enjoy the grounds of the plantation. The tour of the castle was informative though not as I had expected for some reason. Our guide was pleasant and willing to answer any questions we had. Definitely not for kids or sleepy folks.

Start your tour in the meeting room, led by a docent. The young lady that we had didn't know all the answers to our questions, but I truly admire a person who will go and find the answer and come back find/and tell you. Clean restroom and small gift shop. You can also tune in your phone for a guided... 更多

Our visit to Bacon’s Castle was quite interesting though not unlike some similar really old buildings we have seen. Preservation Virginia has done a great job in preserving and restoring this building, portions of which were constructed as far back as 1665. Our group of 34 was split into two smaller groups, with a few other visitors joining us. We... 更多

Great tour and history lesson by Lucas. Recommend for anyone! Beautiful and well kept facility. Would be great for a picnic after the tour on a nice day.

What a find a real piece of history over 350 years old. The best part of this house is its authenticity. It's really that old and not redone to look look like it was just built but 350 years old. Alex was a fantastic tour guide and we learned so much. If you are looking for a great piece of... 更多

Stopped by when we saw the sign on hiway 10. There is a cell phone tour on the outside of the building which provide very good information. To tour the inside, you must pay a fee and go on a scheduled tour. We were headed for Richmond for a flight and didn't have time to wait for the next tour.... 更多

We went to Bacon's Castle as part of the historic triangle tour. After a great free ferry ride across, We joined the last tour of the day which is 4 pm. at a cost of $8 each adult. We had walked around the grounds for an hour ahead of time and saw former slave quarter buildings and the partially restored... 更多
