Isole di Bressago -a place which belonged to the baroness Antoinette St Leger who liked gardening and handsome men.A lot of artists came to this island and she created a botanical garden with plants from all over the world.
Take the boat from Ascona. Approx 20 minutes. 40 francs for two adults return. You can stay for as long as you like. Returns every half hour up until around 6pm. The island is very serene. Taking a ship for 10 min from Ascona to the island for 51 CHF (2 adults and 2 children). We paid 8 CHF for the island entry ticket. Kids were happy. Isola di Brissago is a wonderful island on the lago maggiore. We got there on boat from Ascona. We walked around the island following the treasure map with the kids and the baby (no problem with the pushchair). The flowers and landscapes are really amazing. The island is very well kept and offers a wide range of flowers and plants from all over the world to enjoy. We loved it!! Steeped in history, this island deserves a slow meander through its gardens and peaceful contemplation from the deckchairs on the beach. If you can stretch to a meal there, or even better a whole night's stay, even better!
