The mine park is suffering from neglect. The county (to whom I believe the park was deeded) doesn't have the money or the will to finish what was started. Chainlink fence still stands where construction was started some time ago and never finished. Good walking trail but little to see. Don't waste your time.
This is the location of the old Mid-Lothian Mines, which operated in Virginia in the 1700's and until the mid-1800's. It was the largest coal operation in the U.S. at that time and a railroad hauled the coal to the docks in Richmond. It is now a beautiful park with walking paths, a small amphitheater, and a beautiful lake. Plenty... 更多
This is a terrific stop for some history and a stroll! There are some remaining original buildings for the mining period, signage to describe the location and a excellent path for a little exercise. We consider this a very safe area to walk on the paths and the people we have met along the way friendly during our visits. There... 更多
This is a lovely park on two sides of a busy road with tunnel access to each side. One side is open with a lake surrounded by paved paths and a small ampitheater. the other side is graded woodland pathways touring historic Midlothian Coal Mine sites. Historical notes are posted on the pathway as you go. Tours are available on... 更多
This place has an amazing trail around a beautiful lake with several serene bridges and overlooks. There are 7 pokestops and a gym for the serious GO hunter, not to mention a lot of water type pokemon.
One of the best outdoor area in Midlothian. Great for an evening walk. Not so crowded, not that noisy. My family really like here.
This historic park has nice paths to walk on. A small lake is next to one of two parking areas. The trail goes past the original coal mines of Midlothian which were the original mines in the new world. Great place to walk your dog or get some fresh air. Mostly shaded trail.
The shady path on the "historical" side of the park where the mines used to be is a pleasant place on a warm day, and it's interesting to learn a bit about the mining activities from years gone by. The "sunny side of the street" part of the park is a great place to walk in a relaxing atmosphere.
