BEAUTIFUL park! Towards the water are tons of birds, since this is near a "highway" for migratory birds. Great trails, great views, and wonderfully maintained. Make time to visit here!
We visited this park at the end of June, 2016 and my kids fell in love with it. They spent about 3 hours digging in the sand on the banks of the Potomac. We went early in the morning and saw eagles, snakes, turtles, and other wildlife. It was so very quiet and we were the only ones there for... 更多
I absolutely love this place and never get tired of coming here. Great hiking trails and a very nice bike trail. If you're looking for a great place to escape for a few hours and catch a great sunset, this is it.
Mason Neck is coveniently located a short distance from DC and just south of Fort Belvoir, VA. The drive to the park is a nice short ride, where you almost always see deer or wild turkey, and several times, I've spotted bald eagles. The park has nice walkable trails that take you along the Potomac, as well as an asphalt... 更多
A small park around the DC area. On par with other more famous parks. Nice and quiet. The trails by the oceans are my favourite.
I am glad you enjoyed your visit to Mason Neck State Park. Thank you for sharing your great experience with... 更多
If you want to go on a hike and see gorgeous scenery, this is the place for you! We were able to get in about 8-10 miles of hiking and we missed one trail when we ran out of light! Definitely visit the bay at sunset and do not miss the Eagle Spur trail as that observation blind offers the... 更多
Mason Neck is a great park to go hiking! I came here in the winter and there was probably 6 inches of snow on the trails still, but that just made it more fun! We even got to see several bald eagles. It was only $5 for parking. It's close to DC, which makes it a nice escape from the... 更多
I live close by and visit a lot. They have tons of trails for biking, running, or in my case- walking my dog. If you're a bird enthusiast, this is a great place to see eagles and herons, and tons of other species. They have a nature center where you can learn more about the area and the wildlife.
This park is basically an island of wilderness and Potomac shoreline within an endless ocean of cookie-cutter housing development, car dealerships, and failing strip malls. But that makes it a nice local getaway.
