This is our second time here and we enjoyed it even more than our first visit! The chapel is beautiful and the museum in the basement is interesting and informative. Make sure you see Robert E. Lee's office, burial site, and Traveler's grave. A very worthwhile stop!!
The Lee Chapel has the original Peale painting of George Washington in a redcoat, the one you've seen in your history textbooks. The Chapel's tour guide gave us a very interesting and enjoyable tour of that painting and the rest of the Chapel, and answered all of our questions about the Chapel, the College of Washington and Lee, and the... 更多
Robert E. Lee is probably most known for being a Civil War general for the South in the Civil War thanks to American public school history books. However, there is much more to learn about one of America's most innovative educators and moral anchors. Learn about these things by visiting Lee's Chapel and Museum, it is a most welcoming informative,... 更多
My husband and I visited the Lee Chapel and Museum this past week and it was a fabulous tour, but what made it even better was the tour guide we had. Her name was Maggie Davies. She was a dynamic, engaging, interesting, older woman with a great sense of humor, wit, and amazing historical knowledge about everything! My husband is... 更多
What a fascinating place to visit. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, the tour is no charge, they had so many artifacts of the Washington family and the Lee family, how could anyone not like the place?

I have been here three times, most recently last week. I love going to this museum and have learned something new each time. I plan to return again on my next trip.
Allocate one hour. The burial memorial in the chapel is a classic from a bygone era. The museum below focuses on the post-Civil War Lee which describes a little-known aspect of Lee's life. There are a fine collection of artifacts. Don't forget to tour Lee's office near the door.
Those interested in history or civil war will find this an interesting place to visit as it expands on lee's post military career and gives interesting insights. Beautiful chapel
