This is a little gem in the middle of "downtown" Chesapeake Virginia. Easy well marked trails. Shady paths with occasional wildlife. There are several geocaches in here which adds to the fun. I did notice no one obeys the dog on a lease rule here so be aware of that. Trees have identifying plaques which is nice.
Came to check out while I was in the area. Only public restroom I saw was a porta potty. Well laid out trails, nice scenary, benches and trail maps conveintly placed. Decent number of pokestops, caught a Seaking 525 and saw a Weezing on the radar, but it despawned before I could locate it.
This is a hidden gem of a park and a favorite place for us to take our dogs as it is far less crowded than Oak Lake Park (which is to say, we generally meet only a handful of other people, at most). The park is completely wooded and consists of several miles of looping trails that are well maintained... 更多
Have visited this place several times for a walk or a run. Trails are good. You can go for several different distances and there are several loops and inter-connections. Last visit, one bridge was down, so I had to backtrack and go around, but I'm sure they'll fix it soon.
Chesapeake Arboretum is a great place to walk when it is hot out. There is an immediate temperature drop as you enter under the shade of the trees. The paths follow along a stream in the park and are bordered by several neighborhoods. We frequently walk with our dog as to many others. There are several paths that are marked... 更多
Perfect place for a nice stroll with someone you love being alone. It is quiet there, no hoopla, mostly just the sound of breeze, some noise from the neighborhood near by and motor vehicles are there but what you hear the most is the nature. The day my husband and I walked there, it was still a bit cool but... 更多
In my opinion the Arboretum is not well kept. The trails were over ran with weeds and broken down tree branches. To me it was just like walking in the woods somewhere. Nothing real impressive.
This is a nice change of pace for Chesapeake. This is a series of trails through through the woods along a creek even though it is in a suburban area. A lot of the plants have been identified and are marked. The disadvantage is that there are no bathroom facilities. We do enjoy walking the trails.
