We regularly visit KSP. The history is intriguing and dispersed around the park. The views from the beach, pier, and trails are magnificent. The Rangers and staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Great fishing, boating, hiking, biking, camping, and swimming on The Shore.
Thank you for sharing your experiences at Kiptopeke State Park for potential visitors. I am glad you enjoy the park.... 更多
We stayed here in a Pop Up camper with full hook ups. Our site was level and shady and about the largest site I've ever been in. It was a short walk to the beach, playground and camp store. The staff was excellent and very friendly. There are lots of walking trails too, plus birding. No wi-fi, except at the... 更多

beautiful state park. They have these beautiful lodges that can be rented - I might just come back here and do that. There is also a nice long beach that I am bound and determined to return to and walk on! There is a wonderful walk through the trees on raised boardwalks too.
We were fortunate to camp here during off season. We had a reservation but were able to pick any site we wanted. All sites are back in and I can imagine during the high season it can be very crowded but for us, during the third week of November, it was perfect. The hiking trails and the beaches in the... 更多

We were weathered out of our annual fall camping trip to SC. Hurricane Matthew closed the state park we normally go to so we lost our reservations of nearly a year and had to scramble for an alternative. Kiptopeke SP was a great find. This state park is right on the interior of eastern shore VA at the mouth of... 更多
My best friend & I decided, on a whim, to visit Kiptopeke State Park & camp for the night. We were not let down. We arrived, pitched the tent, and wondered down to the beach just in time to catch a beautiful sunset over the Chesapeake Bay. The campsite is less than a quarter mile from the beach access, but... 更多

I visited briefly in late October, but the park was still beautiful. The water along the park shoreline was full of pelicans feeding voraciously. Located on the east coast flyway, Kiptopeke is a good place to observe the fall hawk migration, although the peak was past when I visited. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel is visible in the distance, and bizarre... 更多

When we were recently there, it was $5 admission per car. Ample parking. Nice place to walk - either trails or beach. The trails had good signage. There is also a convenient public restroom and a small shop to get beverages, snacks, etc.

My husband and I took our first "solo" camping trip to Kiptopeke, and we loved every minute of it. Staff (except for one cranky lady at the guard station) was incredible - kind, friendly, and extremely helpful. We tent camp, and their sites are perfect. They are first-come, first-served, so try to arrive right at check-in, or better yet, treat... 更多
Trails by the seashore, woods, and fields. And a fishing pier to get you out on the water. Not overly large, but lots packed into a smaller area. Camping also available (which we did not explore on this visit). A must-see if staying in or around Cape Charles.
