The black and white rock and roll photography exhibit was extraordinary, but other than that, at the time of year that we visited there wasn't that much to see. It's a very nice museum, but the American art was the only other building that was open, and it was average. There is a nice gift shop and more to see... 更多
A lighthouse, a big Steamboat, a bridge, multiple colonial houses that were moved here piece by piece, and a fabulous collection of the most Authentic American Art are just part of the things you will find in this lovely museum. Perfect for Adults and Children of all ages,a no miss if you are around Burlington
Shelburne museum, located on Rte. 7 is a wonderful accumulation of historical and period items, spanning trains, firearms, fine art (paintings) a steamer used on Lake Champlain and much more. I would recommend a two-day venture, a lot to see and appreciate.
I hadn't been to the museum in many years and we happened to be in the area on a cold winter weekend and decided to see what the museum was like in the winter. The admission price reflects the off-season at $10 because many of the buildings are closed, but you can still walk around and see the steamboat, lighthouse... 更多
I recommend this museum, mostly because it has so much to see and there is no charge other that the general admission. The attractions include a large steamboat (Ticonderoga) that you walk all through and a locomotive with a passenger car that you can walk though. The ship and the train car were considered “luxury” in their day, which is... 更多
This unique "village" of buildings has a vast collection of historic buildings - barns, jail, drug store/pharmacy, lighthouse, railroad station, stable, iron-smith, and even the Ticonderoga steam ship. Located along Lake Champlain. It easily is a 2 hour tour.
We visited the Shelburne Museum for the Georgia OKeefe Exhibit. This coincided with the opening of their newest building specifically dedicated to the Arts. The gardens in the summer are truly beautiful, plenty of variety but the zinnias, dahlias and geraniums were outstanding. This is a great visit for kids of any age as there is so much to see... 更多
This is a wonderful museum for any company we have [out of state or downstate]. We do the whole place on those visits. Without company we go at least twice a year, for the spring lilacs, or the peony gardens... the annuual change of outdoor sculptures and of course the Pizzagalli Center. Allow an hour or more for just that... 更多
I visited the Shelburne over Labor Day weekend. It was not at all what I was expecting from a museum. Instead of your typical building with a handfuls of exhibits mounted to walls, the Shelburne is more of a small village; 45 acres large with each building the equivalent of a museum. You enter from the parking lot through the... 更多
This is the best museum I have been to in the United States. We have been coming here since our son was in a stroller -- he is now 13. The best part about the museum is that it changes and grows as your family changes and grows -- so we inevitably find new fun things to do every time... 更多
