Enjoy a ride all the way to the Canada border on this easy fairly flat ride that winds along the shores of lake Memphremagog, the most beautiful lake in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
From Newport City to the border is about a 12-mile ride. You go from the city streets and neighborhoods to a lakeside trail through the woods and beside a wetland. It's a varied, primarily flat ride that's perfect for those visiting and/or living in the area.
I walked this bike path two days in a row. It appears to have a solid foundation for biking and I will return for biking or cross country skiing. The views are spectacular of the lake and distant hills. You can also catch the sun going down. There are parts of the path that passes through year round housing as... 更多
What a treat! The trail is perfect for a walk, run or bike ride. You can pick up the trail in Newport and take it up to the Canadian border. If you head out after dinner you can watch the sunset behind the mountains. Breathtaking!

My sister and I walked this trail (part of it) twice and had fun both times. Lots of birds to spot, and just a great place to walk--probably even better for bikers who can go quite a distance. The path is wide and mostly flat, so it is an easy walk (depending on how far you go.
It's flat & not too long (about 4 miles one way) but these issues don't deter from the enjoyment of this scenic ride along Lake Memphremagog. It's never crowded, wooded in places and you never know when you may see deer on the path, turtles resting on logs or crossing the path, ducks, geese and other wildlife. Restorative ride for... 更多
