I enjoyed my visit to the Vermont Historical Society Museum. The price was reasonable at $5 for a senior. The museum was laid out in a way where it was relatively easy to find your way through it,. The displays did a good job of telling the story of Vermont's history. I found it to be a good way to... 更多
On the one hand, if you want to know something about the history of Vermont, this isn't a bad place to start. On the other hand, they've left so much out. The museum's assumption seems to be that all "Vermonters" came from Mass and NY stock of white anglos. That's true for a large share, but they completely miss the... 更多
Lots of history. Tour traces the area from the Native American to the present with everyone well represented. Very nice and helpful staff. Enjoyable place to visit.
I walked into this place trying to get out of the heat. I had about an hour to kill before a meeting, man was I surprised. This place is amazing I learned quite a bit of Vermont history an hour is not long enough. I had to leave for my meeting but I had to come back afterwards to finish... 更多
This is definitely worth a visit if you're in Montpelier and is free. The museum has wonderful exhibits of Vermont history and is well organized.
We were a bit disappointed there were not more displays and documentation of Vermont especially in the French/Indian War and the Revolutionary War. The movie was especially disappointing as a good deal of it was centered on modern issues.
Excellent presentations about the history of the state of Vermont and the area. Self guided tour with something of interest to adults as well as children. If you are in the area, this is not to be missed.
This museum is a good place to learn Vermont's history. The displays are well laid out and tell the history in a chronological order.
