Excellent presentations about the history of the state of Vermont and the area. Self guided tour with something of interest to adults as well as children. If you are in the area, this is not to be missed.
This museum is a good place to learn Vermont's history. The displays are well laid out and tell the history in a chronological order.
I went here Friday for VT birthday celebration. It was pretty cool and the Museum has a lot to do. I will go back here again. The staff was friendly and it was so cool looking around. I did not get to read everything but will go here again.
It's located in a beautiful building very close to the Capital so one can invest a whole day in the area. Their displays are excellent in explaining Vermont's history and how their residents since the state began have invented so many things that benefit not only Vermonters but the entire country and from them, our world. Located adjacent to the Vermont State House, this museum houses nice collections relative to the history of Vermont starting from the earliest settlers to the current day. The displays, dioramas and video are nicely presented with concise information that is easy to understand for all age groups.
Museum located a few steps away from the Capitol. More than just a museum, two films presented show 1) Vermont's part in historical US decisions and 2) issues confronting the future of this small states idyllic conditions. History buffs will enjoy the insightful displays.
Excellent display of Vermont history. Easy to followi and nicely arranged. Lots of hands on activities for kids as well as adults.
This museum is dedicated to Vermont's past, and attracts many visitors from countless places every year (as you can see at the end of the main exhibit.) It is mostly kid-friendly, with some interactive sections that shows people of today how it felt to live some centuries ago. For example, there is a churn where you can, well, "churn" butter.... 更多
My husband and I have visited the Montpelier area for years but never had come to the Vermont Historical Society. It was fascinating to learn about the state's history, going back to aboriginal inhabitants right up to the present.
