This small mountain is a wonderful short hike for all ages. Many come here for the view and for a picnic lunch (bring your own, leave noithing behind)
I think just about anybody could do the Mount Philo hike. It's a very family friendly area and the trail is well marked and fairly easy. The views from the top or rather amazing for such a small mountain so it's well worth the hike to the top. If for some reason you can't do the hike you can always... 更多
Mt. Philo is a beautiful park with amazing views from the top. It's a great hike to the top and when you reach the top you are rewarded with breathtaking views of the valley! There is ample parking and the trail is clearly marked.
Didnt hike, we were lazy and took the road to the top by car. Lovely views of lake and mountains, nice breeze on a very hot day. Some nice comfy loungers available if its not busy. No food or drinks for sale. Just picnic areas, toilets/restrooms and water fountain.
Mt. Philo is about 20+ minutes from downtown Burlington and well worth the drive. The route is going to take you through typical small towns, including Shelburne, which has the VT Teddy Bear Company and Shelburne Farms. Make time for both (they're very close to Mt. Philo). If you're driving from Burlington, you'll take Route 7/Ethan Allen Hwy pretty much... 更多
Vermont first state park is a hidden gem. You can hike to the top about 1 mile on the trail. You can walk the road to the top or you can drive. Large parking area at the top. Lots and lots of great viewing areas and chairs for sitting and taking it all in. Real bathrooms as well. Picnic tables... 更多
I hiked along with my daughters end of year class trip through some gorgeous woods. Day was pleasant, bugs were not at all a nuisance. Paths were in good condition and clearly marked. The picnic area at the top was very well kept and inviting. View was fantastic. For those with less interest or capability to hike there is an... 更多
Mt Philo is in my community and a resource I Use often. It is a relatively easy hike for hikers and still very doable for non-hikers as long as they are in relatively good shape. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the top and once you arrive you are rewarded with an incredible view over Charlotte to Lake... 更多
So pack a lunch and get on up. We have lived and hiked here for 20 years and it has changed....great park managers when open in the summer but now just a little too popular for our liking. You can hike a few trails which are less crowded, but try to avoid the weekends, especially in good weather. We nicknamed... 更多
I am not a hiker, yet I would gladly hike Mt. Philo every day if it afforded me the opportunity to show visitors the most amazing view of the Champlain Valley. In fact, I do this hike about 3-4 times a year just to help others have the experience! Mt. Philo is a state park, which requires just a few... 更多
