I have been to Lake Pflugerville a few of times. Some times just to get some exercise walking around the lake on the trail, some times with a fishing pole to fish from the shore. Although I did not catch anything I got some good practice casting with the new casting reel.
Lake Pflugerville makes us water independent. The hike and bike trail is a good walk, but is flat and often WINDY. Not much parking and can be crowded on weekends, and the landscaping is immature at best. In 20-30 years, this may be a great place to spend some time. I am not even sure why this is called a lake, because it is really a big pond. A big pond with weird stuff floating in it and it is not very pleasant to look at. Really a blah experience.
Nice small size man made lake,only about 10 feet deep,but tons of FISH,no motorize boats allowed on the lake,swimming on the northeast side+ paddle boat rentals.Hiking trail all the way around the lake,about 3.5 miles,several fishing piers to fish off of.Great for Kite Sufing throughout the year.
