Very interesting and enlightening. You can easily see why this spot was chosen to protect their harbor. Commanding view of all approaches. It has many informative photographic poster displays that show the fort over the years. There are tunnels and ramparts to explore if you are so inclined. Has benches to rest and restrooms that are well maintained.
The fort itself is pretty cool, our tour guide told us that he would play here as a kid. Imagine that, playing on a REAL fort instead of ones made from cardboard boxes. There are beautiful vistas and plenty of benches/picnic tables. Definitely a worthwhile stop.
My sons and I took the dog for a walk here this morning. We had never been before. Incredible to think we had not visited here before because it is a beautiful place to walk around and there are gorgeous views of the Great Sound. There is an abundance of history too, with notices on the walls inside the fort... 更多
Fort Scaur is located at the western end of Bermuda in Somerset and on the highest hill top. This fort was built in 1870s. Fort Scaur was to protect the Royal Naval Dockyard from any possible land attacks. This was the time when the British thought that the Americans may try to seize the Dockyard and use it as their... 更多
Stopped at this attraction as part of a larger tour. It is at a very picturesque location, and the place is riddled with tunnels, used to defend the fort in the early days. Most of us stayed above ground, but a few went into the tunnels and got...lost. It wasn't that bad.
Fort Scaur is a small 19th century British fort in western Bermuda. It was built when there were tensions between the US and Great Britain but was never used in battle. The fort is well-maintained and nicely landscaped. The walls and outer defenses are intact. One large cannon is mounted in the battlements. Its big attraction, however, is the views... 更多
We stopped here during a taxi tour. It was very cool and worth the stop! There's a few parts that are actually open that you can go inside the forts and explore the hallways and stairs alittle bit. There isn't much light so a flashlight is definatly a good idea. Learned a lot about the history and the views were... 更多
We got here via the Railway Trail. There is a nicely marked sign showing the path. The grounds are so beautiful and nicely kept. Amazing views. We ran into the grounds-keeper and he was so nice. He offered to take photos of us.
