We stopped here as we had been wanting to come for a long while and we were not disappointed There were several exhibits regarding both early Texas and early McKinney history. The 20 minute documentary entitled "Once A Nation" was very well done.
the guide this past saturday was excellent, very knowledgeable about not only the exhibit but other factoids and fun stuff about mckinney plus the exhibit is Collin McKinney's 250 birthday so tied in with the area, town and texas history. lovely building, well kept in mostly original form(check out the basement for the boiler) and enjoyable to visit plus bookstore...
Brings tears to your eyes as you wander through this particular exhibit, realizing what our men and women experienced during this war. The replica of the Hanoe Hilton is amazing and gave me true perspective on it. A number of other items that are extremely thought provoking.
