Went here to see the lights. It didn't happen, not to say that it doesn't, but??? I would recommend that when in the area give it a shot, however, If this is your only reason to visit Marfa, stay at the Riata and move on.
Our family went here twice over spring break. The first night we went at 10:30pm and did not see any. We were told that it's best at dusk so the next night we went at 7:30pm and it was perfect and we saw the lights. It was a busy place but not crowded- really neat!
I was a skeptic about these lights, but I no longer am a non-believer. My wife and I saw many of the lights, multiple sizes, multiple colors, all dancing around the area. Who knows what they are. I can tell you, though--they are there.
We saw the Marfa Lights! The facility and the surrounding area are very nice and well kept. We arrived before dark to read the plaques and view the landscape. Bundle up because it can get cold! At dusk, we could see the lights. There were several other people there and we all confirmed to each other what we were seeing....
