The kids had a blast walking the trails and visiting the track sites. The Paluxy River was at a great height to swim & tube in for the kids!
This park is so cute. Lots to do and see. Also, the river that flows next to it is kid friendly. Bring water shoes. They have a little beach area too. My kids jumped off a Big rock and loved it.
The water was high on the day we went so we only saw a few tracks but the scenery is really nice and you can walk in the water (or swim) the whole time to stay cool. Hiking in the Texas summer is brutal so this "water walk" is a great option.
Take a step back in time when dinosaurs roamed the earth. At Dinosaur Valley State Park you will be able to see actual dinosaur footprints embedded within rocks that are caressed by a shallow stream of water. You may walk down to the river bed to visualize the dinosaur's foot prints ~ which found their sanctuary thousands of years ago.... 更多
The day we went, the footprints were just under the water. I was able to get very good pix of some from up on the ridge looking down. We tried to get down to the river in that section of the park, but the terrain was steep & my son had too much trouble. We went to the children's park... 更多
We were only at the park for a short time, as we were looking for a pavilion for a larger group to picnic in. The park itself is nice, but the pavilion wasn't appealing and there were no close restrooms for a large group.
It was a cloudy day. It had been raining all morning. I was afraid we would be unable to view any of the prints because the river had flood warnings. We stopped at the park office and paid our dues ($7.00 per adult). We viewed the nice exhibits in the park office and then headed out to find the infamous... 更多
Wish we could have done more while we were here. The river was swollen and we were unable to cross safely. Almost all the trails were closed. We had already booked a hotel and driven down from Dallas so we tried to make the best of it. Lots of wildflowers in bloom. They have a Facebook feed that gets updated... 更多
The river was high so we didn't get to see any of the dinosaur tracks. Only 1 trail was open, as well. All that being said, our kids enjoyed the short hike we did, as well as playing on the playground. We will most definitely come back when the water is lower so we can swim & cross to the... 更多
