Seawolf Park, is the home of the USS Cavalla submarine and the USS Stewart destroyer ship. You can tour both military vessels for $5 (each). I enjoyed learning about naval life during the second world war. Rooms, gadgets, knobs, and buttons were often labeled. There are some tight quarters in both and quite a few stairs, which may make some... 更多
I visited this park with my husband and my two sons. Both of my kids were amazed to see how small it is the submarine and they love the engine room. They also like the destroyer specially the deck with the guns. This park has a nice view of the Galveston Bay. If you are lucky you can see one... 更多
The battleship and submarine are fun for sure. I enjoy the water I brought my daughter loves this place for sure. Its a little rundown but still very cool.
This park has a WWII sub and WWII destroyer ship that you can tour at your leisure. Parking for the area is $6 and $5 per person for tours. Audio tours are available, but I'm not sure of the cost. Everything is maintained by private funding. Different areas of the ships are marked with explanations for their intended use and... 更多
The kids will love this place for sure and there is an old Battleship made of concrete that was too heavy to float sticking out of the water there. I been going there since I was a kid and it was an awesome place to go!
The park has places to picnic, fish from piers and is handicapped accessible. the ship and submarine are actual vessels used by our military that have been retired from service and restored to a large degree. Lots of history that shows how the men lived during voyages and the ingenuity that was called upon to construct and operate the ships... 更多
We've visited the park numerous times over the years and it has steadily deteriorated. The last time we visited with our two young grandsons and they played in the playground which was less than average. They also toured the sub and the ship. This could be a great park with some maintenance and remodeling of facilities.
We were very glad we decided to visit Seawolf Park. We debated about going to Battleship Texas, which I'm sure would have been nice too, but I believe this was a much better value and local. Parking was $6, and then $5 per person to visit BOTH the submarine, USS Cavalla, and the destroyer escort, USS Stewart...both of which are... 更多
a WW-2 sub...the only one that sank a japanese aircraft carrier, i think?...she's deteriorating fast, though...better go aboard and see what those sailors endured, back in the 1940's...amazing...
We spent all day here we tours the submarine and the ship. We had a picnic lunch and we fished we love this park. Great with small children. Lots of shade trees.
We ventured out to take a look at the park due to its location and my interests in military history. Upon arrival, I was a bit turned off by the price as its $6 per car to enter and park (which is an absolute must as there are no other options in this remote location) and an additional $5 each... 更多
This is a very nice and quiet park! If you want to get away from the seawall and large crowds, this is the place to be. It has a WW11 submarine you can check out, fishing, restrooms, and nice grassy areas! I actually prefer this park than the seawall!
It cost us $18. To go in and park the car. On the website it said nothing about the charges. There are a lot of people went around the booth and park without paying, We thought it was unfair to the people who paid to get in. The submarine was interesting to see. We spent almost one hour there. The... 更多
