The statue was easy to find (Dickinson St.-business I-10) and Main. but crossing the busy street was a little worrisome since there were no crosswalks or pedestrian traffic signal. Every time we take a trip, we always seem to find these World's Largest _______. Finding the worlds largest roadrunner was amazing. As it turns out, This roadrunner was the world's largest until 2002 when it was replace by another road runner in NM.
We try to stop in for a photo-op every time we stop for gas and eats in Fort Stockton. The best parking is across the road to the southeast in a gravel lot. We've stopped here on nearly every trip along I-10 in Texas. The F.A.S.T.-fabricated birdy behemoth is a great mascot for the town and a first-class photo opportunity.
This huge road runner is an eye catcher and a great photo opportunity. The road runner is easy to spot on the east end of town when traveling towards the I10. He sits on the right hand side and makes for a fun photo and a nice place to stretch your legs.
This is a hoot! Paisano Pete stands guard over the area and you have to give the town elders credit for having this idea. The Runner will always be in my mind when I think of Fort S.
