Excellent Lake to Fish. All Largemouth Bass are CATCH and RELEASE. All other fish can be kept. Nice Camping spots, water and electricity, RV spots also, as well as Primitive Camping. Nice restrooms also Showers with HOT Water. We have camped out in our Tent many, many times, I fish there several times a year.
We visited the park to ride bike trails. There's plenty of trails for a good workout (different levels but nothing too hard) and plenty of pavement if you'd rather ride on the road. We "toured" the entire park by bike. The camp sites are nice as is the beach area. There's a playground area for the kids and a picnic... 更多
If wanting to escape a big city and do a little fishing this park is great. Not a worthwhile visit for hiking and exploring. I also recommend bringing your food along as the local area has poor restaurants other than the chains. Great staff and very quiet park!
We came here on a cub scout campout and were disappointed in this locale versus other state parks we have visited. We usually put two families per site, but most of these campsites are so small, only one family can fit on most of them. They have only one loop of electric/water campsites so there are fewer choices than at... 更多
If you love fishing or nature hikes or swimming or just a quiet get away this is your place. Plenty of camp sites or RV sites and even cooler over the holidays when campers decorate and have a good time.
First visit to this park and we were pleasantly surprised. Felt like we were far from the city, but it's actually not far from Dallas. Campsites are nice and shady and private with trees between sites. Fish from piers or shore. We enjoyed the hiking trails. Bathrooms and showers very clean. Can buy firewood in park. $5 for quite a... 更多
This us a lovely park with a scenic lake. Recommend you rent a canoe - allows you to see more of the lake and we had fun fishing from a canoe!
Rangers and staff are kind and knowledgeable. Some decent quick day hiking trails and a pretty well managed swim area with boat rental options. Don't forget no need for fishing license at State Parks so bring that dusty old rod n reel out of the attic and give it a cast. The primitive hike-in camp sites are greatly appreciated by... 更多
We visit often, if only to walk the nature trail. The fishing is sometimes very good, but always fun. I wish there was still a snack bar, but that didn't last. There are fun times to be had most Halloween seasons. I wish there were cabins to camp in, like at Tyler State Park. No fishing license is required in... 更多
Purtis Creek has been on my bucket list for a while. Generally, you have to make reservations in advance as it's very popular. I can see why. It's a beautiful, clean, quiet, well managed park. Everyone really seemed to be enjoying themselves. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. They sell ice and they have wood at the... 更多
