The Museum is a great source for education. My Granddaughter age 7 and Grandson age 5 love to go there to explore and learn. The old pictures of Oak Ridge are such a reflection of the past!
Extremely interesting and informative. Fun and interactive. Did not know Oak Ridge played such a role in the history of the U.S.
My daughter had a school filed trip here this year and had a ball, they have all kinds of interactive science games and experiments to do. She really loved the static electricity ball and the interactive games. It's clean and well kept.
I first visited the AMSE after moving to Oak Ridge almost 2 years ago. I knew very little of the history of Oak Ridge other than the very vague stuff taught in history class about the Manhattan Project which basically mentioned it as a site but not the details. The AMSE has a wing of the museum dedicate to the... 更多
This is a great museum that is instructive about energy in general, but more interesting to me was the story of the Manhattan Project. I had a pretty good background in the impact of the project but seeing the artifacts and displays made the magnitude of the project clear. It truly was an incredible feat of engineering. I have been to this museum many times. Good for the family or solo. The under 10 ages may not appreciate so much. Quite interesting. All get a much needed education on nuclear weapons and the Manhatten project. A lesson on what a can do attitude may accomplish. Lots of history in photographs and objects. Good science stuff. Politically one... 更多
The museum was rated as the number 1 attraction in Oak Ridge and I can see why. Our tour guide (Heather) provided a lot of additional information. Her husband was an engineer who worked in the Secret City during the era the A bomb was being developed. Outside the museum was an actual house that the support staff lived in... 更多
Awesome museum. I had looked up the Y-12 security complex after I drove by before on a trip. This museum is an impressive display of the history and troubles encountered during the construction and operation of reactors for the manhattan project. On the second floor is more of a children's museum type setup that actually breaks down a few concepts... 更多
Teens and parents will learn much about the making of the bomb dropped on Japan. Many interactive activities for children of all ages. A needed understanding of past events that impacted our nation and the world.
very nice presentation of the ehistory of Oak Ridge and its role in the development of the atomic bomb dropped on Japan. Some hands on stuff for kids, but mostly aimed at adults.
