Went to Buchan to see the caves one day when the weather was lousy. Great thing to do - fantastic to see and great information by the guides. Didn't stay in the area as we had to get somewhere else but a lovely spot where you could spend a few hours.
The Buchan Caves are a sight to behold, being able to go underground experience what is happing underneath our feet is amazing. The tour guides are great and very knowledge about the caves. Definitely returning in the future.
If you driving to NSW divert to Buchan caves. About 50 mins off Princes Highway. .. 45 min tour and 50 mins to get back on Princes Highway. Absolutely worthwhile 9 and 12 yr old got real appreciation of what magicial things happen 60 ms underground. Highly recommend. Guide was brilliant. Didn't waffle kept it short sharp and informative.
Family of 4 - one 2 year old, he grizzled a bit as we stopped in the Royal cave on the tour - your guide very rudely told us to keep walking down so everyone else could hear! He was not screaming, or crying just a bit annoyed at standing still. Also not a suitable activity for kids that little... 更多
Visited Janolin caves when I was ten. This was as good if not better. Was worth going to the Royal and Fairy caves in sequence. Both are different parts of the one complex. Kept my daughter engaged and not looking at screens for two hours which is unusual. Very beautiful and strange experience highly recommended.
Visited the the Royal Cave and I was quite impressed by the variety of different types of formations in this one cave. The cave is interesting in that it follows the path of the ancient water course which of course caused the cave to form. The first 80m in is a man made tunnel to get into the cave. Most... 更多
We used a full day to explore the Royal Cave and the Fairy cave, plus picnic in the Reserve. Both these caves were easily accessible for young and old, and neither were very challenging as far as steps or narrowed access would go. Anyone with reasonable movement would enjoy these very natural caves. There is no coloured lighting as I've... 更多
We prebooked our site before we arrived. We thought it was abit expensive for a non powered site. When we got there we were the only campers and there was a family staying in a cabin. There was quite a few day visitors. We decided to go on a cave tour which cost us an extra $22 each. Which was... 更多
We were shown through the Royal Cave by Lex who was an engaging and informative guide. The cave itself was amazing and an easy trek with cement paths, handrails and steps in the steeper parts. Awesome lighting is turned on at each stop to allow you to really see things in detail. I'm super keen to head to Melbourne now... 更多
