Pretty church interior, with interesting stained glass, carved panels and tiled sections. Very warm and welcoming even on a cold winters day. Particularly pleasing to see the Children's crèche/ Sunday school area as part and parcel of the main body of the church,Malone with its incumbent residents of a variety of stuffed toy animals taking their seats, and even two... 更多
Parts of this church are very old, and there are some interesting features inside and out. Centrally located in the town, with footpaths through the churchyard.
St Mary's is stunning when you visit and part of the choir are in practice the is fulfilling and heavenly lite a candle and sit and relax no better place in Monmouth than is.
Ancient atmosphere in here and with that old, huge, dark, slightly deteriotating painting hanging up it adds to the history and ambience. white (marble?)Headstones high up on the walls inside with angel heads/gargoyles some as old as 1500.Classical music festivals are held here and on my visit there was grand piano and bassoon playing. Very pleasant.

Lovely, imposing Norman Arch entrance, and Victorian renovations mix well, all superbly maintained. Behind the alter, the reredos or altarpiece is the late nineteenth century painting of the adoration of the... 更多
