We have reached the summit of Cader Idris using two of the three paths. A few years ago we hiked the Pony Path - the path is fairly safe - it is steep and hard work but it is certainly accessible to the novice walker. March 11th 2017 we hiked the Fox Path. This path is certainly not for the... 更多
What a great mountain, it has sheer cliffs, wooded slopes, waterfalls, sheltered valleys, a prominent ridge, mountain views, sea views. No wonder it's a bit of a favourite. We had a great walk up it last week. We were staying in Dolgellau, so we got an early bus around to Minffordd, we walked up via the Minffordd path, had lunch... 更多

Tough hike up the first part, very big steps! Couldn't go any higher than the lake as the fog was far too thick but the views are stunning! Great for the dog too but if you don't have control, keep it on a lead as there are sheep all around you! Will do again in the summer!

A climb up the highest peak for miles should bring rewards, but if it's foggy you aren't going to see much. Fortunately, Cadair can provided lots of variety to your climb so that you can get something out of even the most unappealing day.
