Great place to spend the day , relaxing and playing with the kids...but a little hard to find for us travelers...but worth it when you do.
Start from the North and walk South. You will pass by information signs that talk about Tom Lee. I can not spoil that information in this review. Went there during early spring on a lovely sunny day. It was wonderful by the river albeit a bit cooler. We were carrying a little picnic. A few picnic tables would have been appreciated. However the view, greenery & cleanliness compensated it all & we managed with a bench & standing.
If you enjoy walking and seeing the river the park at Tom Lee is a place to consider. This is the area for the annual Memphis BBQ competition and other Memphis in May activities. Nice scenery and good walking paths.
Every year there is a BBQ festival and cookout during the month of May. It has to be one of the biggest attractions that Memphis has. This is a delightful park at the foot of the bluffs in downtown Memphis. There is free parking in the south lot. The park offers incredible views of the city, the river, and the bridges.
