Recommended by friends and was not disappointed in this remarkable outstanding prestegious historic building formerly residence of the Royal Stewarts. The imported marble throughout, the decadence and attention to detail, well worth visting.
Spectacular gothic building within magnificent grounds. Architecture is simply outstanding, particularly the chapel. The stained glass windows, with the zodiac signs are breathtaking. The grand house is a 10/15 minute meander from the car park however there is a minibus available at no extra cost. Give yourself at least half a day to explore this wonderful find. Don't forget your... 更多
The house no has no barriers up ( Nothing like a National Trust ) so you can walk around the rooms then you did before, nice staff they try and help you as best as they can. I would visit again.
Magnificent grounds and buildings. Really worth the visit. We went in October, autumn colours were simply breathtaking. Make sure you allow yourself plenty of time to see all of the grounds - we almost missed the sculptures!
Dear Highland_Rovers Thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit to Mount Stuart. I'm delighted that you... 更多
We were delighted to arrive at Mount Stuart on such a glorious day, you explore the house,on yourr own with a map given as you enter. You first encounter the hall which has various rooms dining , parlours and kitchens.but what impressed was the staircase made of coloured marble with windows of beautiful designs. The upstairs bedrooms , bathroom's and... 更多
From glinting horoscope ceilings, a breathtaking marble chapel, a swimming pool, a secret passage, and an original First Folio of Shakespeare's plays (!), Mount Stuart has something for everyone. It is a stunning, sumptuous building set in beautiful grounds. We took the architectural tour with a very well-informed, enthusiastic guide who brought the stories of the Bute family and the... 更多
Visit as part of Coach Holiday. The House was a veritable delight and surprise. Very good written guide and informative staff available to ask questions. Extensive gardens (you have to be fit to see them). Visitor centre a long way from house and does not seem to sell much. Minibus available to transport between centre and house, which is very... 更多
I've been here a few times before and it never disappoints. This time it was for the retrospective exhibition, 'That which remains', of all the artists whose work has graced the grounds and house in its contemporary visual arts programme for the past 15 years. More of the House was opened than usual allowing access not only into familiar spaces... 更多
I have heard of the Isle of Bute, and maybe it was `somewhere` on my bucket list, but not at the top of it. However, my brother has recently moved from the Midlands to Ayrshire where his wife originated from. Following on from my trip to St Andrews, 25 October 2016, I decided to pop across and see them on... 更多
Just walked around the gardens as we had our dog and couldn't go into the house. Lovely walks up the coast, formal gardens etc. All the walks were labelled on a map. Shame some bits, like the 'wee garden' were closed for work but staff at the admissions desk didn't let us know so we walked an extra distance at... 更多
