Shortest ever ferry ride, 5 minutes, goes out in all weathers it seems. We spoke to a ferryman who told us times, costs, etc. and we just turned up and paid on board. It only takes a few cars but it runs every hour.
We ended up missing a ferry because the hydraulic arm was broken. But we were impressed to see how quickly the ferry was repaired. They only skipped one sailing, and things were back to normal when we returned a couple of hours later.
A 10 minute crossing only, however this is across a very strong channel (Corryvreckan whirlpool is at one end) to the extent that you "aim" almost 45 degrees away from docking point - good fun. Jura is great.
Quick loading and off-loading, £22 for car and 2 people, stunning views of Colonsay and Jura. We were worried because there was a huge lorry for a tiny ferry, but they took the commercial vehicle first and came back to pick us up just 10 minutes later!
Very small car ferry but runs regularly. We got there early expecting a queue but were first there. Ferry holds about 5 cars. Pay on the ferry. It's a very remote island. Don't think you could visit without transport. Quite a few cyclists have a day trip there.
By chance arrived bang on time for both Ferrys we took and never had to wait. They run fairly frequently anyway and we ended up getting a special booking back as a lorry had been taken to jura. The crossing is less than 5 mins, reasonably priced for a car and 2 passengers and very polite and accommodating crew
