We were offered a free tour with our stay at Stillmans Cottage. They were not in production but actually we liked that because we could really see everything. We have been on several distillery tours so this made it very different. Very nice tour guide that did a great job. Beautiful distillery in the middle of town - go and... 更多
Visited Bowmore distillery during a recent motorbike trip to Islay. We were made very welcome, were invited to leave all our cumbersome gear behind reception, and were then given a 1.5 hour in-depth tour of the distillery by the very helpful, charming and knowledgeable Lynn, even though we hadn't pre-booked. After that we were invited to taste whatever we would... 更多
Bowmore was the only Islay distillery I hadn't yet toured so this year I was bound to correct this. While my wife did some shopping I took the tour and quite enjoyed it. Due to the recent drought and subsequent lack of water, the distillery was in "silent" mode so we were able to see the inner workings of the... 更多
We visited Bowmore on Tuesday 26th June for a tour with a school group (aged 13 to 15). The tour guide, Susan, was both exceptional in her knowledge of the whisky process and in her ability to interact with the teenage group. I would highly recommend a visit here.
We had no tour booked, we just wanted to visit the grounds and the visitor's center (had so many tours already). A very nice distillery, nice area and an even better visitor's center aka tasting area. Great views!! This is one of the most commercial distiller's on Islay, together with Bruichladdich, I think. Lovely to visit though! We had some... 更多
Let's make something very clear. People - you need reservations for all these distilleries on Islay! But, we did not have a reservation and so we could not get on a tour at Bowmore. What to do? Well, they have a tasting room where you can get one free tasting plus more to purchase. And so off we went! Beautiful... 更多
If you're driving from the ferry at Askaig to Port Ellen, you drive right through Bowmore. The distillery is beautiful and worth a stop. Whisky lovers were lined up at the tasting bar and everyone looked to be having a great time. Right across the street is Celtic Shop with a very nice tea/coffee cafe upstairs.
This is a must on the island to visit - this is what originally bought us to Islay being our first peated whiskey that got us hooked! the tour was great value and the drams at the end was a mega bonus as well as the glass. the tour was extremely interesting and informative - as well as engaging -... 更多
We were privileged to take a 2-person Craftsman tour with Amy as the last distillery tour of our honeymoon. The distillery was out of production due to a run of dry weather, but the upside was that everything was quiet and our tour was more audible. We were able to walk into places we probably wouldn't have had access to... 更多
