We visited Buchanty Spout in early October on a sunny afternoon to watch the salmon leap. As nature-starved urbanite, it was exciting to see! We visited this area on the way to Crieff, unfortunately the heavens opened whilst we were there so did not stop that long to see if we could see the salmon travelling up stream, but it is worth the stop during any weather - a truly beautiful and peaceful area.
First saw this lovely waterfall area when in my 20s and have visited a few times since. Very pretty and if you go at the right time of year you can see the salmon leap

Excellent place for watching the salmon, bit they are not circus salmon... They do decide themselves when the conditions are right so don't expect to turn up and see loads of salmon within 5 minites.
