We started our walk from Starcross and ended up in Countess Wear just outside Exeter. This was a lovely family walk my son who's only 9 years old enjoyed it but was tried by the end of the 7 miles. The scenery is fantastic over looking the habour and the train line. We would have walked further but it had... 更多
We walked down from Topsham to Exmouth and back. It's quite an easy, level walk with lots of pretty, changing scenery en-route. We had lunch by the seafront in Exmouth but if you didn't want to go that far there were other pubs along the way. Very pretty and enjoyable.
Nice walking, mainly on the level which suits us now we are in our seventies. Plenty of views, plenty of drop off spots and in places good travel facilities to return to your starting point. Well recommended. Just the problem of some cyclist who dont appreciate the track is to share, and some of us old git's are deaf but... 更多
Along the Exmouth side of the River Exe there is a tarmacked path quite wide, cycle's as well as walkers use this path for work as well as pleasure, the views are stunning and in the Autumn full of Blackberries, I have only walked as far as Lympstone Commando base but it is well worth the trouble.
Staying in Exmouth so hired bikes from Exmouth Cycles (strongly recommended, very reasonable). Took the 10:30 (first) ferry to Starcross with bikes £5.50 per adult. Cycled to Powderham Castle, decided not to go in this time. Cycled to Turf Hotel for lunch (again recommend). After lunch headed up as far as the swing bridge and then cycled back through Topsham,... 更多
Done this twice now, most recently starting in Exmouth, right round to Dawlish then back to Exmouth (on the train from Starcross....!). Overall covered 19 miles - both kids aged 10 and 12 loved it. Most is off road, and fortunately for us grown ups was mostly flat. We had intended to catch the ferry back from Starcross to Exmouth.... 更多
Day 1, We cycled from Exeter St David's station to Starcross and caught the ferry to Exmouth and caught the train from there back to St David's. Two allocated spaces on each train for bikes. Trains are every half hour. The path is great, almost all off road, the exception is a short stretch near Powderham Castle, still relatively safe.... 更多
We decided to do this walk and add some geo-caching along the way. It was a lovely sunny day and the views at times where spectacular. So pretty and pretty level
Cyclists and walkers alike, it's great. Wonderful to be away from the traffic and walk through lovely scenery, passing through pretty villages and tempting pubs and, if you get tired you can hop on the train ... Even with your bicycle. Can't recommend it enough. Walked four miles from Topsham to Lympstone, had lunch at The Swan (recommended), and walked... 更多
Without doubt one of the prettiest and most scenic cycle trails in Devon. The investment over the years to keep adding to this cycle trail has paid off in creating a beautiful off-road (mostly) cycle trail along both sides of the river Exe. Reasonably easy cycling with very few hills and those that are there are not particularly big. Keep... 更多
