My wife and I were last here just over fourteen years ago, and the one thing I remember is Classiebawn Castle. Many of us can remember the shock when we heard that Lord Mountbatten had been murdered by terrorists back in August 1979. That put this castle on the map, a sit was the holiday home from which he had... 更多
Classiebawn Castle is a beautiful sight from a distance but is in fact a private residence and not open to the public. If you visit Mullaghmore and take pictures it is sure to look fantastic in the background. Beautiful castle with a sad history. It is unfair to give anything but an average review because you can't actually do anything... 更多
Classiebawn is a gothic castle dominating the lanscape near Mullaghmore. It is superb in its location. The castle is famous for its association with Lord Louis Mountbatten. He and his family used to holiday here. Very sadly, he was murdered in 1979 just beyond Mullaghmore harbour by the IRA.
Whilst you cannot get close to the castle the views from the coastline are spectacular. The small fishing village on the peninsula is beautiful and has some interesting history. Well worth a look.
This castle dominates the horizon from miles around and looks like a lovely castle/home. It is unfortunate it is not open to the public, as it does look like a great place to visit.
This building is not open to the public therefore review is very limited. If you are interested in photography it certainly makes an excellent 'point of interest' within the landscape. Sad history which many tourists probably miss.

While it's privately owned and not open , it's beautiful to just take in. The drive into Mullaghmore is breathtaking. It is part of the Wild Atlantic... 更多
You can't really go anywhere near the castle, but from a distance it gives spectacular views and sits in a very picturesque setting. If you're going to get a shot, you'll probably need both a long lens and a tripod and you'll want to pick a day that's got some good atmosphere.
