You drive up, register and drive up some more to get 5 minutes of the show of a lifetime! You literally stand at the edge of the volcano and see the lava churn and the smoke... the heat is amazing. It's really incredible!!!! Some people visit at night, when you get more time (15 min) and the visual is better,... 更多
I was in Nicaragua for a trade show and we took a great tour to the Masaya Volcano. This is an active volcano, and you can see the lava from the border in the top of the volcano. You can reach the top in the car and just walk 50 feet to the border of the volcano.
My wife and I visited the Masaya Volcano at night. Our hotel operator recommended the night visit over a daytime trip. Was he ever right. Seeing the molten lava gurgling in all it's colorful glory was among the most unique things I've ever witnessed. And I shall never forget it. One additional word - Go!
My husband and I visited Masaya volcano as part of an organised trip to Nicaragua and I can honestly say it was one of the most amazing sights we have ever seen. Probably one of your only chances in life to see an active volcano. It is just breathtaking the view and the feeling. So recommended they only allow you to stay there for around 10 minutes as the gases and the smoke are not really good. I would go back again!!
You can stand at the edge of the crater and look over into an active volcano. Lava is churning and smoking...it's crazy!! You can only stay for 15 minutes because of the gas and there is nothing else there but it is so worth it to see a volcano!!
This is a fascinating natural resource. Check out the museum in the park for a very good orientation
