It is nice to see that reparations and upgrades are taking place to preserve this beautiful and historic part of Knoxville. It is worth the while to walk around at least once.
We drove down during the day --- and just driving around the area for a while was sufficient for us. Didn't see anything that really made us feel that we needed to get out and experience. Guess you need to do it on your own and decide how much it interests you! Market area was much more interesting
It just keeps getting better. Great places to eat and hang out. I love the glass blowing store. And you can pick up some tamales to take home!
Old buildings restored to their former glory now housing shops, bars, restaurants, furniture showrooms, wedding venues, and more. Well worth the short detour off the beaten path of downtown Knoxville. A definite must see.
took the trolley and stopped by old city in the morning after visiting the farmers market in adjacent market square, there was very little open though it looked like it was mainly for nightlife activities but the section of town is in need of a lot of work
We enjoyed several meals in the cafes in Old City. It is a very friendly and clean area to spend a day in. We met locals and spent time rendezvousing in a very pleasant setting.
