Went to see the outdoor drama that is performed here the last three weekends in July every year. This is a must see performance. All the actors are local people and do such a good job. My wife and I stopped by while checking out some of the historic sites in the area. Although there isn't a lot to see, we enjoyed the small museum, the representation of the fort and there was an art show going on that was nice to see.The staff was very frindly and informative. The fort is a representation of what the original fort may have been liked. The Park Ranger was very knowledgeable and was eager to give a talk. Very educational and as a history buff I learned a lot about the Over The Mountainmen Trail which goes through my county of Rutherford NC.

I love going to Sycamore Shoals state park!! The fort is really neat to look at and walk around. The welcome center has wonderful displays of life at the fort. The path by the river is a really nice place to walk. The grounds are pet friendly... just pick up after them!! It is a Beautiful Place!!
