Nice old bridge, we were told a new bridge will be constructed in the near future. We traveled to Douglas Lake in December, so the lake was drained at that time.
We saw this on the way to Dandrige, TN....BEAUTIFUL! THe dam, itself, is worth the drive and has park benches to sit, rest, and/or meditate.
We drove to the dam and had a picnic lunch and watched the wildlife. There were great blue herons, osprey, brown and white water birds. We had the best time watching them catch fish from the overflow gate. If you like birds this is the spot.

Looking for a spot to look at the foliage we drove up to the top of the viewing area for the dam. Absolutely beautiful with the mountains in the background and the beautiful lake down below. One of the prettier places we have been. Loved it up there

Of course, the lake and mountains are beautiful, although the water level is low this time of year. This looked like a perfect spot for a camping getaway. It is also near Sevierville, Pigeon... 更多
