We did not realize that this is second only to Arlington. Makes you realize how much our military men and women have done for our country. Take the time to tour it and sit quietly as you observe the many many graves.
beautiful cemetery in the heart of downtown chattanooga!! it sits in the up and coming Highland Park and is just absolutely gorgeous well maintained and friendly landscapers!!
You cannot describe the beauty and the awe this place has. Everywhere you look, you see graves of men and women who have served our country and then buried with families there. Great history lesson for families!
Like all National cemeteries I have visited, Chattanooga National Cemetery is very well kept. We spent several hours walking through. There is a lot of Civil War graves here and it is also the first National cemetery.
Very somber place, of course, but well kept, overwhelming just taking it all in. You see it as you are driving up and it can be a bit emotional. A great place to take a quiet stroll, reflect on life and enjoy what we have.
