This park is at the edge of the river (across the river from downtown and the aquarium). Very peaceful with some foot traffic. There is a beautiful carousel in this park that runs daily. The park also backs up to a main street with unique shops and food
We came across the carousel when it was empty. The chap(Trip) looking after it was really nice and we paid our dollar ( one each) and went on it. Lovely ride and great music, what a fantastic carousel, so fortunate that it was saved and then given a dedicated building.
After walking across the Walnut Street Bridge, we found this fabulous park. You have to check out the carousel! Great little shops there and soooo many great restaurant choices. Beautiful area along the river that's great for family outdoor activities. Even downy the river you can even grill out. Fountains are cool. You just have t come see this place!
It was cold out put we went to the park for a walk and enjoyed seeing the river and taking some photos. The park is free and I know it would be great in the summer. The water is all off at this time.
It was freezing outside when we went so none of the water was turned on (not even the drinking fountains) but it was still a cool place to visit and see the river!
This is a wonderful place to spend a nice afternoon strolling through the park, visiting antique stores, and just people watching. There is a beautiful carousel with seats along the way to watch those riding. We were very impressed with the beauty, the cleanliness, and the friendly people there.
Took a stroll over Walnut Street Bridge and ended up at Coolidge Park. Fun in the summer when they turn on the water and fun when the carousel is open.
Hand carved wooden animals on a refurbished antique carousel are a must see and ride for anyone who visits Chattanooga. Free electric buses will take you across the river from many places in downtown. Buses are frequent and allow you to park and enjoy the city.
