This is a small museum and gift shop that celebrates the freshwater pearl industry on the Tennessee River (Kentucky Lake). It was informative and the people were very friendly. There were also gift items that could be purchased and taken home.
This diminutive museum is worth a stop if you're interested in natural history. The large, slow-moving rivers of the US Midwest were home to a thriving pearl industry through the late 19th and early 20th centuries. See a video, examine a large variety of natural and cultured pearls, and learn about the button-making factories that lined the river. Call ahead... 更多
Visiting the Farm is an interesting experience. I had no idea the Museum existed. We were shown a video of how the pearls were grown and harvested. Very interesting.
We did not get the boat tour because it was closing soon. I think it would be better with that. Anyway, call ahead to make sure they can accommodate you for it. So, for the museum, it is very small but interesting. It is in a marina of sorts and a large room with some small displays and a video.... 更多
Not only a great southern experience but fascinating information about natural pearls. Owners very eager to enhance your visit and give their time for your enjoyment. Includes great shopping and accommodations for groups. Worth the trip off the usual path. Price is right Must view the free film.
Decided to go visit the place and from the outside, it is a marine repair shop, but walk inside and there are tons of pearls and the woman who runs this part is so knowledgeable. They are famous in their own right with many of these Tennessee pearls used to adorn many famous people. The most famous would be the... 更多
I guess it is worth taking the detour from the interstate for this museum. The video they put on was informative, and it was nice to see some of the pearls on display. We spent maybe 20 minutes total at the place. We stopped on the way back at a trail that led (in about 5 minutes of walking) to... 更多
I visited the Pearl museum and had a great time!! I watched a short film~ very interesting. I saw a lot of beautiful jewelry and clothing with pearls. I loved looking at the jewelry for sale. I will be going back!!
Employee at site was rude. Offered very little information on what was available.had to ask where prices where on items for sale. Show room was poorly designed and lightening was poor. Film that was shown did not offer a lot of info on ten pearls.would not recommend and will never go back. Nothing worth taking a picture of. Very disappointed
Birdsong located in Benton county offers this large complex. This is a combination of rv park, museum, marina and more! The website informs you of the many facets of this attraction. If not anything the small video is worth seeing l. Seeing some old items from the past is a bonus!
