Stopped at this zoo prior to the Waccamaw river tour. The zoo is fairly large for a private zoo, and has quite a variety of animals including lions, tigers and a mountain lion. The zoo is in a bit of disrepair, and the larger animals looked miserable in their small cages. Think if they were to keep their focus on... 更多
If you are looking for a fancy , cosmopolitan zoo this is not for you. But if you are looking for a laid back, inexpensive activity that fills an afternoon this may be what you are looking for. Expect dirt walking paths and a unusual assortment of animals, more of a rescue or preserve than a zoo. But it is... 更多
Make sure to buy feed to give the animals. Our 3 year old loved feeding the animals. There was a variety of animals and the peacocks kept following us around. There was a very naughty monkey, and we got to see the mountain goats butting heads.
Great Zoo, Peacocks are just running around free. The staff is great and the old lady (she calls herself that) in the entrance is hysterical. Really lots of fun.....
This is the most disheartening place I have ever been. I like animals and took my grandchildren to this zoo. The animals had forlorn looks on their faces, their fur was filthy and matted, and two of my grandchildren ended up crying over these poor creatures. We come to the Zoo every year and enjoy the animals. The staff are friendly and care a lot about their animals. This is a great place to bring the family.
Title should say it all. Just spend a half a day at the most. Kids will love it. Not something I would want to do twice... but a decent fun half day it is. Its a small zoo.
