I thought this would be a nice cultural gesture while we were in Myrtle Beach. I didn’t realize I would enjoy the exhibits as much as I did. Exhibits change every few months. There are stairs, but there is elevator access. A sunroom – tearoom provides ocean views.
The Museum is an interesting conversion of a nice raised 2 story home and addition and is quite close to the Atlantic Ocean and the Myrtle Beach airport. As good as this museum is, their special events make it even better. Their latest was a talk by Vivian R. Jacobson on "Marc Chagall and the Paris Opera Ceiling." Not only was the talk itself both interesting and enlightening but the fact that Mrs. Jacobson knew and interacted with Marc Chagall brought an added dimension that one rarely obtains... 更多
Art! You never know when you will get inspired.......but you will be inspired in this small, charming museum with the best staff and volunteers who make you feel totally special. I stop in the museum about once a month to see what new art and artists they have on display. They have a lovely tea room that will make your art museum tour even more pleasing.
I have attended two showings at the Burroughs and Chapin Art Museum and they both were very professionally run. The event coordinator did a fine job in arranging the displays and spread out the areas where many would congregate at one time, such as a bar.
