Beautiful well kept beach. Great for walking or looking for small shells. You can fish in the surf, but a license is needed. There is a campground at Huntington too. Visit the Nature Center, or look at the variety of birds in the Park. Another interesting place is Atalaya. This was the former home of Archer & Anna Hyatt Huntington.
I am a local and I absolutely love this place! The causeway as you drive in never disappoints with up close views of water birds (egrets, herons, pelicans, grebes, etc) and during warm months the resident alligators are usually posing nicely for pictures. I usually turn left after the causeway to the north end beach, but if you want a... 更多
So wonderful to have this gem for those of us who would rather enjoy nature and the outdoors than party and shop at the beach! (although ,all of that stuff is just a few miles away). Beautiful beaches, fresh water ponds with lots of birds and alligators. Long boardwalk out over the salt marsh from which you can take photos... 更多
Read the reviews about all of the alligators, lizards and birds you can see on the nature trails and the boardwalks, so we visited today. Buzz. No alligators, no lizards, and only saw three kinds of birds. We did see hundreds of tiny crabs and two turtles, but it certainly wasn't worth the three hours we spent there except for... 更多
I love this beach and park. There is so much wildlife to see, long empty beaches to walk on and beautiful sunsets and sunrises. I walk my dogs there on the off seasons. I have never camped there but understand the campgrounds are great as well.
We had visited once before, but this time we took my cousin on her first birding expedition. Needless to say she is now hooked. Even though it was February and before the mass migrations, we still saw a huge abundance of birds. Scenery is incredible and we didn't even make it to the beach!
We had an amazing March Break getaway at Huntington Beach State Park. Most of the travellers here are seniors enjoying the warmer climate. This made for a quiet camping experience! No party animals keeping us up all night. The sites are very big, the washrooms and showers are clean, and there is miles and miles of gorgeous beach. We also... 更多
I've been here during the winter months. Sometimes I'm the only person on parts of the beach When there is a warm spell I've seen alligators along the entrance to the park. If you like to walk there are alot of paths. It's another place in Myrtle Beach I find relaxing. I take a book and a chair and sit on... 更多
You could easily spend an entire day here. The beach is just perfect and not so crowded (unless there is a church or school group) (call ahead). As soon as you enter the park and drive over the bridge, you will definitely see alligators and beautiful birds. Once parked, you can walk anywhere and never feel unsafe. Beware of the... 更多
