Check their website for activities, especially the Art Festival in September. You can walk through the "castle" and the grounds which will mesmerize photographers. And the Art Festival draws some of the most amazing crafters/artists in the south - painting, sculpture, Gullah crafts, jewelry, glass, carvings - there is no end to the beauty to be had here. We go to Huntington State Park as much as we can; most of the times we go to the beach, but we have also enjoyed hiking and biking through this lovely park! Another must visit in Murrells Inlet (along with Brookgreen Gardens which is right across the street!).
I came here for the hiking since I am a local. The trails weren't very long and I feel like the main focus was the beach (of course). As for the trail, though it was short I saw an abundance of wildlife which is what I wanted. Great place for bird enthusiasts!
What a Beautiful State Park! We had a Wonderful time there and spent All Day! Loved the Gift Shop we found so many souvenir's! The old brick house/castle was really interesting to tour. The long boardwalks over the water were full of great information!
This was our first time visiting and we fell in love with it. The campsites were spacious and set apart. The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed long walks every day. We also took advantage of the beautiful marsh views and enjoyed the bird watching. We will definitely be coming here every year.
We visited at Thanksgiving so I assume the beach are much more crowded in warm months but it was a very nice, clean beach to stroll. Trails are limited but well maintained. The parks facilities are adequate and well maintained.
Somewhere to go for more than one day. I loved the egrets in the inlet and watching all the wild life there. The beach was pristine, water was blue and warm and a breeze to smile about. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a handicapped walkway where the sand started and the boardwalk ended.
We just moved to the area a few weeks ago and have been visiting as many areas as possible before the busy season starts again.. This is by far our favorite state park at the moment. Absolutely beautiful beach, very large and clean, and seems to be a lot more shells! Plus you not only have the beach, you also... 更多
We go at least one time when we go down and spend the entire day. W,e love love love this park. We always see at least one alligator sunning himself close but this past year we had two side by side. The beaches are clean and there is so much history to learn. You can also camp, see museum, marshes... 更多
We've been camping here for a number of years now. There are limited campsites and 3 miles of pristine beaches. It is peaceful and quiet at night and everyone is friendly. They have many activities and lots of nature. You can fish, swim and even keep you dog on the beach in specified areas. There's not fireworks or the trash... 更多
