Even if you aren't going to buy fireworks, this road-side attraction is a colorful place to spend an hour. Fun animal statues are scattered around the fun shops that carry knick-knacks, t-shirts, and tchotchkes from all over the world (mostly made in China).
We drove from Florida to New York with our two sons and on the way back decided to actually stay at South of the Border. I am so glad we did. The motel is older like 70 style but clean and we got a room that was so perfect - it was two bedroom two bathrooms and $74! We walked... 更多
Although this tourist icon has seen better days, their campground provided just what we were looking for: easy off/easy on exit to I-95, full hook ups pull-thru site, security gates, quiet (surprisingly quiet since it's so close to the highway), and a place to walk and stretch our legs. Offers GS, AARP and military discounts. Good To Know: (pluses) there... 更多
Haven't been there in 14 years passing through with another family going to Myrtle Beach decided to stop. Had a great time walking through the shops. There was an arcade for the kids. Nothing seemed to have changed which was nice it wasn't modernized. We enjoyed our visit.

No repairs, no cleaning, no new attractions....stores sell same kitschy stuff they always have and food is lousy. My youngest kids didn't remember stopping 10+years ago so we pulled in to get gas and... 更多
One of our semi-annual trips for fireworks & as always, never a let down at Fort Pedro. We didn't eat here this go around, but I have in the past & wasn't too impressed. If you're questioning going up the elevator to the Sombrero....go it's worth it unless it a cold, windy day. Worth the stop, just ran down in... 更多
Tacos was good, the ice cream which I had black cherry was I unsweetened so it went in the garbage now it didn't say it was unsweetened or I would not have purchased! But other than that there was much to do the motels looked like ran down motels I went on to the Hampton Inn Lumberton!!
Made a quick rest stop here, and took some pictures with the goofy signs. Fun, cute, a little grimy- don't sleep there- but stop off, buy a bumper sticker or something and have a laugh at the silliness of South of the Border
