Many artifacts surrounding the civil war. Books, photographs, flags, weapons and an inside look into Charleston's connection to the confederacy.
It's located above the market and strangely very few signs to steer you in. You have to pay, but it houses a sizeable collection of Confederate War memorabilia. I was happy to pay if for no other reason than to help preserve history. This museum is every bit as crucial to preserve as is the slave mart, but this one... 更多
The Confederate Museum is located on the second floor of the tall building at the west end of the Charleston City Market (Market St. & Meeting St.). As you would expect, it houses many relics from the Civil War, the majority related to South Carolina. All of this was interesting and educational; it is worth a visit. I had a... 更多
Wonderful small Confederate Museum housing many exhibits in a small space. We were greeted by two Daughters of the Confederacy volunteers. Price is right $5 apiece. I'm amazed that somehow they aren't able to house the wonderful exhibits in a climate controlled environment to sustain them better. Take time, if you love the Confederacy, it is worthwhile. Open Tuesday- Saturday.
This my third time in six years I have visited this museum and I discover new things every time. From military uniforms, flags, pictures and belongs from the unknown to the famous. Be sure to check out their schedule to plan your day. If members of your family or party are not crazy interested in this topic, below the museum... 更多
For $5 dollars this is a visit you can't afford to miss - if you are interested in Civil War history and the history of the secession. Not only does the museum have a large collection of flags, swords, and other articles of the day to day life of the Civil War soldier, but it also has a huge number... 更多
I was very impressed with the amount of artifacts and other civil war memorabilia on display. The staff were very helpful with any question and provided extensive knowledge on a variety of history in the area.

It's really like going to a military antique shop except you can't buy anything, or take pictures. The have a lot of really interesting artifacts like a lock of Robert E. Lee's hair.... 更多
