I don't think anyone should miss coming here while visiting Charleston, particularly because you get to see many samples of the local arts and crafts. There are so many wonderful gift options. There are many tables where you just stroll from one to another. There are a couple of cheap eats and places to get something to drink. It is... 更多
This market has everything--from clothes and hats to dishes and glasses, locally made baskets and jewelry too. Most of the vendors were pretty friendly and I Saw a lot of stuff I wish I'd left room in my suitcase for. Next time!
We enjoyed our visit but found that there were many booths that were repetitive. However we did find a great photograph to bring back to Montana to remind us of our tour through downtown Charleston. My daughter found a darling hat that complemented her dress and we enjoyed shopping in the market and at nearby businesses.
You can find just about any souvenir at the market. The air conditioned section i really nice when its hot. Prices are a little higher here, but what do you expect. Very convenient for the cruise ship travelers.
This is a fun place to stroll through, see the local artisans wares, shop some souvenirs if you are in need and just take in the local flavor. The shops lining both sides of the market are also souvenir or tchotchke focused, but there are also some little candy and ice cream stores for a snack along the way.
We passed through here as we walked around the town. it's full of the sort of shops you expect on this kind of market. they sell all kinds of souvenirs, t shirts, hats and food etc. it's worth passing through if you're in the area and it's nice to get out of the sun for a while.
I had heard so much about the Market but was disappointed in that there were so many booths of the same things (baskets, jewelry). I expected more different local crafts. It was very interesting to hear some of the history of the marketplace. It's an easy walk from many places and the trolley also goes there.
In Charlestown my wife had to look for a sweet grass basket, so the city market is the place to go. Being from Kansas City my take on the city market would be an enclosed flea market to me lol. There's 5 buildings all in a straight row with a street separating each building. One of them is all enclosed... 更多
Loved walking through the market and seeing all the unique items for sale! Only negative was it can be very hard to navigate and really take your time to look at merchandise due to the large crowds.
