During a carriage tour, it was noted that this church dates from the early 1700s and is the oldest in Beaufort. Later while walking the old town, we visited the old cemetery, which includes Revolutionary War and Civil War (Confederate) generals, officers and men, and even some British sailors killed in the Revolutionary War. Then we walked into the church... 更多
Stopped in to view church and graveyard. Person working (sorry i can't remember her name) was pleasant and full of information. The church itself is beautiful and she took time to explain history of church and pointed out features in the church. Since we were the only ones there, she took us on a tour of the graveyard as well.... 更多
We stopped here just to have a quick look inside, and fortunately there was a docent and congregation member decorating for Christmas services. She stopped what she was doing and offered a warm welcome and provided a great overview of the history of the church, its architecture and Beaufort. A very special church in a beautiful historic city.

My son and I recently visited Beaufort from the Upstate while he was on college fall break. The church had a living history event in the graveyard the day on which we visited. It was a great experience. The 300 year old church is a must see.
The church was built in1712 and is a must see. There are docents on hand Mon thru Fri to give you a tour and answer any questions. The interior of the church is breath taking. The grave yard has some very famous people buried there from the Civil War. Easy walk from down town Beaufort
