If you have the chance to hear the Pittsburgh Symphony play here, do it! There are also many other shows and performances held here. It is one of the most glamorous halls in the country.
This is a beautiful hall, with friendly employees. But one warning: if you are taller than 5'10" do NOT buy a ticket in the upper balcony. They call it the "Family Circle" and the "Gallery." Caught the PSO while I was in town. The performance was the music intermixed into Back to the Future, which was a great way to visit, given I had never been to a symphony before. The building and details are amazing. I recommend getting here early just to walk around and marvel at the building.
Heinz Hall is a must see. The tapestry, marble, and chandeliers are truly remarkable. I have seen many venues in this place, and every single time I left mesmerized.
