We enjoyed our visit to the Fort. The museum in the Visitors Center is very good. The Fort itself has signs posted within it, so you know what you're looking at. We wandered around the Fort by ourselves as it is self guided. No one else was there which was fine with us! They have a summer camp program for... 更多
Had passed by the Fort several times in my travels and always wanted to stop but never seemed to have the time. So when I planned a motorcycle ride to Western Maryland for a few days I figured this would be the best time. The Fort is an awesome self-toured experience. With all of the different fortifications, buildings, and other... 更多
On the 4th of July my husband and friends of ours from Canada decided to do a walk-through Fort Ligonier. So fascinating to see all the displays all the artifacts, the way they lived the way they fought, totally Amazing! There's information everywhere tells you about the tools the weapons how things were made how they lived how they stored... 更多
This is a great exhibit of the history of the French and Indian war. Have not visited since I was in school and revisited over the 4th of July. A great lesson in history and now under way to expand for 2017. The life of the men who served 1758 - 1766 we really enjoyed the day.
This is such a cool place. Wonderful piece of history smack dab in your own little town! I certainly didn't realize how cool it was when I lived here many decades ago but am glad I'm older and smarter to understand it now. Everyone interested in history everywhere.. not just PA. or in Westmorland county, or even Ligonier, should see... 更多
My favorite part of Fort Ligonier, is that is both an indoor museum and a re-creatment that you can actually experience. It's so full of history and information regarding Ligonier's past. I highly recommend it for travelers and for families!
We visited the fort in June 2015. The staff was super friendly. The fort is open and allows for exploring at your own pace. The grounds as well maintained and all of the staff is very knowledgable. It was a great addition to our yearly trek to the Laurel Highlands!
I am not going to lie, I was apprehensive at first about visiting Fort Ligonier, I assumed most of it would be reproduction and exhibits just giving a visual of this history. However, upon arriving I was instantly impressed and blown away. All of these original structures along with the historical exhibits were extremely fascinating. I was still in awe... 更多
The museum was very interesting and full of history; the fort seemed to be very authentic. It will be even better after the construction/renovation is done
I had some business clients visiting for a week from the mid-west and they asked if we had time to see any of the local historic sites in the area. We have already done some of the others I since I knew they were big history buffs they would really enjoy learning something new and oh boy did they. Their... 更多
