What amazing and beautiful creatures these Brumbies are. We were lucky enough to catch sight of some whilst driving down the Snowy Mountains Hwy. No matter what are of this park you go to, it is an amazing experience. Seeing it in winter is such an amazing experience also.
This was my 2nd visit. There were still parches of snow even it was in the middle of the summer. Easy 2/3 hr walk depending on your fitness level. Winter ascend considered to be dangerous as high winds, freezing temperatures, low visibility and the path is covered with snow.
What a great little village for a summer break. We chose to do most of the local treks which was really the main purpose of our visit. Sadly if you want to train for any of the worlds great alpine treks then this is our only option really as far as altitude goes in Oz. The village is really awesome,... 更多
There are different routes to the top, and you can use a skilift to begin your trip. After that you'll find a path that leads to the top. Definitely worth the trip. I would say about 3 hours round trip from the chair lift at a steady pace. Ensure that you will be back in time to catch the chair lift down otherwise it is a long strenuous walk back down. Views are incredible!
We didn't take the chair, but we hiked all the way from the Thredbo village up to the Mt. Koscuiszko and back. It took us 7hours and it was really lovely hike. We had a windy and rainy weather but it didn't bothered us, because we had only one day to make it. View from the top was amazing !
We went at the wrong time in march this year, everything was closed .But not many people around, we enjoyed that. We had a look around which involved a lot of stairs going up and up.We could have gone on an lift up the mountain, but it was to expensive and we thought not worth the money.Nice little town but... 更多
We caught the chairlift up from Thredbo, this takes out the steep section. From there it is a 13 km round trip to the summit & back. The walk is relatively easy & anybody with reasonable fitness can do it without any problem, it is along a path the whole way & takes around 3 to 4 hrs to complete.... 更多
