A real discovery of the past Tin production methods in a beautiful secluded location,be prepaired for a narrow steep drive with some interesting sharp turns but well worth a visit. The whole process of tin production is illustrated by a short walk around a path with signage explaining the stages & methodology very well put together concluding in a visit... 更多
Nowhere else in Britain, if not the planet, are such remnants of a bye-gone-era so evident. The location is stunning but it's the remoteness of the site that stirs the emotions into thinking that this was the workplace of both men and women some 200 years ago. It might be a lovely place now but I can imagine it wasn't... 更多
This is only open on specific days so it is worth checking. It can easily be included as part of a circular coastal walk from St Agnes. There is no mine as such but great bits of process equipment and good descriptions of how they operate.

We went down to Trevellas Cove and had a look at the sea, then walked back up along the riverside. There are some good views to take in, when we went there were several other people enjoying the beach and paths. Overall a neat little place.
The history and processes of Cornish tin mining are complicated, and involve a lot of special words, but here you can see how it was (and still is) done. After a short introductory talk taking 5-10 minutes visitors walk (at their own pace) round a numbered route with clear explanations. Most of the tour is in the open air, so... 更多
Blue Hills Tin Mine is surrounded by beautiful Cornish countryside. We were made to feel welcome when we arrived and enjoyed a great visit learning about how tin was mined. It seemed to be a bit of a hidden gem. Be prepared for a steep drive down to the mine and back up again!
Blue Hills Tin Streams is a working water-powered tin streaming mill that gives visitors a very clear idea of how difficult it is to get tin out of rock. We very much enjoyed the informative indoor presentation and the self-guided outdoor tour, and the visit made us look at all the amazing cliffs in this beautiful part of Cornwall in... 更多
this was an absolutely amazing visit for our 12 year old grandson who is well into science . It is very hands on and children are told all about how the tin is extracted, are able to handle the product and the staff are very informative and understand what children are trying to ask ,and take the time and effort... 更多
